Roddick pulls out of Bercy
Andy Roddick, who has already qualified for next month’s season-ending Masters Cup in Shanghai, has pulled out of the Paris Masters which starts on Sunday.
The American was the only Top 20 player missing when the draw was made here Friday.
Roddick, knocked out in the first round of the ATP event in Lyon by Fabrice Santoro on Wednesday, has been carrying foot and knee injuries for several weeks.

Roddick Heads ATP Lyon Field
World No. 5 Andy Roddick, who the ATP just announced has secured a spot at the year-ending Masters Cup, is the top seed this week at the Grand Prix de Tennis de Lyon.
Roddick’s opening match will be a crowd-pleaser when the American squares off against homecountry Frenchman Fabrice “The Magician” Santoro.
Also seeded in Lyon are Tommy Robredo, Tommy Haas, Richard Gasquet, Ivan Ljubicic, Juan Monaco, Nicolas Almagro and Gilles Simon.
The No. 2-seeded Robredo also opens against a Frenchman in Marc Gicquel.
Other openers of note are No. 8 Simon vs. Andrei Pavel, No. 7 Almagro vs. Mardy Fish, No. 5 Ljubicic vs. Sam Querrey, and No. 3 Haas vs. Igor Andreev.
Gasquet is the defending champ in Lyon, in last year’s all-French final defeating Gicquel 6-3, 6-1.

Roddick qualifies for season-ending Masters Cup
Friday, October 19th, 2007American number one Andy Roddick became the fifth player to qualify for the season-ending Masters Cup in Shanghai after his rivals for a place failed to advance at this week’s Madrid Masters. It is the fifth time Roddick has qualified for the prestigious tournament although he missed the 2005 edition through injury.
Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Nikolay Davydenko have already booked their places at the elite eight-man tournament.
Roddick, who won titles at Washington and the Queen’s Club this year, has been out of action with a foot injury but is scheduled to return in Lyon next week.
